Metaline Falls Affair on Mainstreet |

Affair on Mainstreet takes place Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend on Main Street in Metaline Falls, Washington. Admission is free and activities include a lively clown, the Affair's Can-Can Dancers and other Local Performers. The Metaline Falls UCC Church is sponsoring a breakfast that begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday on their lawn and arts & crafts and food booths are open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Main Street. Back again this year the ever popular North Pend Oreille Valley Lions Excursion Train Rides from Metaline Falls to Ione and return (for more information call 509 442-5466). The Cutter Players will be presenting (to be announced) play at the Cutter Theatre in Metaline Falls, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (call 509 446-4108 for information). The Affair on Mainstreet always promises to be a fun and exciting weekend for the whole family! Hope to see you there.
Train Rides: Ride in open cars, Pullman cars, or the caboose through forests and farms, through two tunnels, and over the Box Canyon Bridge. The Train Rides are operated by the North Pend Oreille Lions Club. All rides begin in Ione, except for Labor Day weekend when rides begin in Metaline Falls as a part of the "Affair on Mainstreet" Festival. The trains leave 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00; please come to the departure point at least 15 minutes early. For reservations, call 509 442-5466 between noon and 6 p.m. in the TWO WEEKS before each ride or make reservation through the internet using our reservation request page. |
