Create Arts Center presents a full schedule of classes as well as annual and special events. Rhubarb Festival, an outdoor/indoor fair and sale of arts and crafts; Fish Frenzy, a community event pairing artists and local businesses; Howards Follies, a locally written and produced theatrical performance; and Holiday Artists Shop, a multi-week sale of the work of area artists and artisans, are presented annually. Book Readings and Signings, concerts, and monthly visual arts exhibits are a part of Create Arts Centers mission. In addition, Create Arts Center partners with Newport Public Library and Exbabylon IT solutions to present visual art exhibits within those facilities. Seasonally, the project offers tours of hydro operations, a Visitors Gallery with interesting exhibits and views of the generator floor, free camp sites, and a boat launch. The 17- mile reservoir is ripe for exploring with boat-in- campsites available and views of Pee Wee Falls via motor boat, canoe or kayak. The Project was built in 1967. The dam is constructed similar to an egg shell design curving inside as the top extends nearly 50 feet further downstream than the base. Pick up a picnic (pre-order recommended) from Owens Grocery and Deli. Drive out Hwy. 2 over the bridge turning left on LeClerc Road. Follow the road to Pioneer Park and visit the self-guided tour of the Kalispel Tribes ancient camas ovens. Enjoy the striking water views. Have lunch. Return to LeClerc Road turning left out of the Park. Follow the road to the Kalispel Reservation. Keep an eye out for the buffalo herd on the left.

The Mill Pond Campground is located north of Sullivan Lake on the Sullivan Reservoir. This campground has drinking water, picnic site, restrooms, boat ramp (non-motorized boats ONLY), fishing, swimming and a 6 mile Interpretive Trail. Can handle up to 28' trailers. There are historic buildings and a wood flume.
 
Noisy Creek Trailhead Campground

Located on the south end of Sullivan Lake. This campground has drinking water, restrooms, boat ramp, fishing, hiking trail and no lifeguard swimming area. Just above this campground is the winter feeding area for big horn sheep. Can handle up to 28' trailers. Reservations taken.

Wolf Trails

Upper & Lower Wolf Trails In Newport, take Warren Avenue north 1 mile. The trailhead and parking area is on the west side of the road. Wheelchair accessible section of this trail system is graveled. Suitable for beginners. Short one-quarter mile walk. Conifer forest, watchable wildlife, scenic viewpoints overlooking Ashenfelter Bay on the Pend Oreille River. Cedar benches for resting. Named for Fred Wolf, former publisher of The Newport Miner.

Seasonally, the project offers tours of hydro operations, a Visitors Gallery with interesting exhibits and views of the generator floor, free camp sites, and a boat launch. The 17- mile reservoir is ripe for exploring with boat-in- campsites available and views of Pee Wee Falls via motor boat, canoe or kayak. The Project was built in 1967. The dam is constructed similar to an egg shell design curving inside as the top extends nearly 50 feet further downstream than the base. Native Peoples Drive

Driving Directions
Pick up a picnic (pre-order recommended) from Owens Grocery and Deli. Drive out Hwy. 2 over the bridge turning left on LeClerc Road. Follow the road to Pioneer Park and visit the self-guided tour of the Kalispel Tribes ancient camas ovens. Enjoy the striking water views. Have lunch. Return to LeClerc Road turning left out of the Park. Follow the road to the Kalispel Reservation. Keep an eye out for the buffalo herd on the left.
